Danny Diamond & Conor Caldwell - Traditional/European Music

Danny Diamond is a fiddle player, composer, researcher and recording engineer based in Dublin. In his music Danny creates a unique sound-world, rooted in the rich heritage of Irish traditional music, while also incorporating wider influences from Nordic and American folk to Baroque music to electronic music. Danny has been collaborating with Belfast fiddle player and lecturer, Conor Caldwell on a number of creative and academic projects in recent years. Conor is a PhD graduate of Queen’s University and is known for his work with the traditional music group, Craobh Rua. For their critically acclaimed duet album, NORTH, Conor and Danny seamlessly blend their shared Northern musical heritage with the fruits of further-afield musical adventures to create a landmark contemporary Irish fiddle recording. NORTH was nominated for the Irish Times Traditional Album of the Year in 2016.
