Procurement Training: Stage 2 - Managing Quotation and Mini Competition Processes
Tuesday, 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM Nov 28th 2017

While the majority of day-to-day purchases are well below tendering threshold values, this does not remove the obligation to seek best value for money, nor does it remove the overriding obligation for openness and transparency.     In addition, many centralised contracts are now setup as Framework Agreements where a “mini-competition” is required to decide which supplier to use.    Whether a quotation or mini-competition process is needed, the principals of running this process are quite similar.    The aim of this workshop is to provide University buyers with an understanding of how to specify requirements, seek quotations/mini-tenders, and evaluate bids while maintaining the goals of attaining value for money and ensuring compliance with the NUI Galway Procurement Policy.  This half day workshop covers all important aspects of the quotation/mini-tender process.  All staff who have responsibility for the activity of purchasing must attend this course.

Audience:    Staff involved in any aspect of the sourcing of supplies and services or purchasing from current centralized contracts.
Pre-requisite:  To get maximum benefit and an understanding of the basic principles, staff must have the Stage 1 Foundation Training Workshop completed first before attending this course.

Trainer:  Michael Swan, Greenville Procurement Partners
